Meet KJ Straub-MacCanon
KJ Straub-MacCanon was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is a true green chile-loving Burqueño at heart and will always have the Southwest run through his blood. He has always had a fascination with the arts and theatre and has been performing on the stage since the age of six and hasn't looked back since. In 2003 he received his BA in Theatre from the University of New Mexico (UNM) and graduated Cum Laude.
KJ earned his BFA in Communication Design from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) graduating in 2017 Magna Cum Laude through hard work and perseverance. His eclectic collection of knowledge and interests is unparalleled and unmatched. From the study of multiple histories such as aviation, art, design, and music to studying psychology for fun, this diverse background not only gives him the ability to communicate with countless cultures and generations, but also shows through in all his design and illustration projects.
His most recent success as Communications Manager for a large local non-profit has allowed him to grow and develop even further as an artist and creative and wants to explore and take his own art in new directions and shine through his passion and drive.
He wants to show the world just how interconnected we are as a people and give back to those who have given him so much.
